Abstract

Acculturation process of the Polish intelligence in Habsburg Galicia in the 2nd half of the 19th century in the light of memories of Kazimierz Chłędowski (1843-1920)

Since the late 90s of the 20th century an increase in interest in everyday life in the Polish-German cultural borderland has been observed. This article attempts to outline the complex issues in the context of the acculturation process of the Polish intelligence in Galicia in the era of so-called Galician autonomy obtained after 1867. These considerations have been taken based on the memories of Kazimierz Chłędowski (1843-1920), a leading representative of the Galician intelligence in the 2nd half of the 19th century.
